The show premiered at the Teatro Coccia in Novara on 27 February 2016. Rocco Papaleo and his trusted travelling companions continue their journey through song-theatre, setting off on an adventure to the ends of the earth. Travel and discovery are an integral part of Papaleo's poetics, but this time the journey is more exotic. Rocco Papaleo confirms his desire to create a theatre 'within reach', with the sole wish, when you think about it, of reaching out to others.
For me, entering a theatre is like leaving dry land.
It means sailing the sea of imagination, living the experience of a seafarer.
So this time our song-theatre wants to act as if it were on a ship, carrying us together with the passengers/spectators on a voyage that can entertain and, at best, move.
We feel we can promise a cruise in every sense – perhaps not a luxurious one, but with everything needed for effective entertainment. We will have sailors ready for anything to assist and amuse you, a little band for dancing and to accompany the stories the Captain wants to tell, and among the passengers we will look for hosts and stewards willing to accept the irony of joining in.
Our ship is called 'Buena Onda' – the good wave, the one that lifts you up and gives relief.
