ARTICOLI

Un enorme lampadario Swarovski to centro by una sala sfavillante in stile minimal.

In the background, as if beyond a large window, the ruins of the Eternal City stand out majestically – and not by chance.

It seems that the centre of power in the capital has in fact – unofficially but very much in practice – moved its headquarters right in there, between a nourishing face mask, a little trim and some highlights.

We are in a hair salon. Or rather, to tell the truth, we are in the back room: two deluxe little rooms reserved exclusively for the most demanding clients, who want to go unnoticed – the VIPs.

And how could one not agree with them?

After all, if aesthetic transformation happened in plain sight, it would be hard to maintain the aura of perfection befitting those who bear the 'cross' of being idols and role models, and therefore must always look glamorous, no matter what!

Pasquale – not the most elegant of names – is known to the gossip columns as the hairdresser of the stars, but among his clients, besides film and TV personalities, there is a parade of well-known figures from the capital's political, economic (and even religious) scene, because today more than ever they too must be recognised for their style and cover-worthy hair. Surrounded by his staff, always ready to satisfy even the most demanding customers, Pasquale can change the shape of a face – and what others will think of you – with a snip of his scissors; but with the down-to-earth wisdom he brought from the provinces and his genuine feeling for art and culture, he also shares passions with his clients, hears confessions and hands out advice, until, almost in spite of himself, he becomes a true puppet master of other people's lives. And if it is true that we live in the society of the image, it is no surprise that it is precisely in Pasquale's 'kingdom' that the fate of the whole country is decided: the election of the next President of the Republic.
