The show premiered at the Teatro Comunale in Caserta on 13 January 2017. In an old villa about to be turned into a hotel, Mira finds herself caught up in a strange dinner organised by her husband with shady businessmen. Her husband has not turned up, and she has to manage an evening whose mood and purpose she does not understand. Her only point of reference, the company accountant, leaves halfway through dinner without explanation, leaving her at the guests' mercy. Until a stranger arrives and asks her for a room to rest in. The two seem irresistibly attracted, and Mira leans on him to face a situation on the edge of legality, while disturbing glimpses gradually open up into her absent husband's activities. As the night goes on, the game becomes ever more dangerous and inescapable. But what part does Mira play? Is she really as naive and helpless as she has led us to believe?
Black humour, intrigue, crime and infatuation: by drawing the surprising profile of Mira, Edoardo Erba's comedy traces with surreal lightness an original portrait of today's Italy – an amoral country driven by the desire to free itself, once and for all, from its cumbersome and ambiguous past and start all over again.
